Lookup

The Lookup utility is a simple database search engine that allows you to perform five (5) different search types. The data used in the searches is stored in ports.dat, ip.dat, and domains.dat. These files must be present in the Port Explorer directory or the Lookup utility will not be able to work.

IP to Country
Allows you to determine which country any IP address belongs to, using Port Explorer's built-in IP database and powerful IP-to-Country capability. For example, searching for 207.46.134.190 would instantly show the following:

  United States

Port to Service

Searching for a port such as '23' will reveal that the following known services use that port:

  Telnet Protocol (RFC 854), WinGate, RAT: Fire HacKer, Tiny Telnet Server - TTS, Truva Atl, RTB666, TelnetPro 1.0, Swarm, Baron Night, AlphaDog, MMX, Net Coach, PEST

Service to Port
Searching for a service such as 'SMTP' will reveal the following:

 --Port 25--
 SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (RFC 913), RAT: Ajan, Antigen, Email Password Sender - EPS, EPS II, Gip, Gris, Happy99, Hpteam mail, I love you, Kuang2, Magic Horse, MBT (Mail Bombing Trojan), Moscow Email trojan, Naebi, NewApt worm, ProMail trojan, Shtirlitz, Stealth, Tapiras, Terminator, WinPC, WinSpy
 --Port 465--
 SSMTP - SMTP Protocol over TLS/SSL (was ssmtp)


Country to Domain
Searching for a country such as 'Australia' will reveal the following:

 Australia = .au
 Christmas Island (Australia) = .cx
 Cocos (Keeling) Islands (Australia) = .cc
 Cook Islands (Australia) = .ck
 Heard And McDonald Islands (Australia) = .hm

Domain to Country
Searching for a domain such as '.au' will reveal the following:

 .au = Australia

To ensure you're using the latest databases, simply click on the Help menu in Port Explorer, then select the Check For submenu, then New Port and Domain Databases
